My Treatment Adventure Book
An activity book for kids going through cancer treatment. Ages 7-12. 23 pages.

Cancer treatment can take over a kid's whole world: the calendar, the body, the energy and every conversation in the room. This book is for the rest of them too. It's a place for their favorite things, their questions, their worries, their wins and their jokes, plus games and puzzles for the long hospital days. It's written to your child, in honest, simple words, with a page for you at the back.

A gentle introduction on every page explains, in kid words, why the page helps, with a short "for grown-ups" line grounded in The Dougy Center's guidance for children facing serious illness, Dr. Heidi Horsley's work on siblings and respected research on feelings and coping. Each page ends with one calming breath.

WHAT'S INSIDE (23 PAGES)

Me and my treatment
• A note from me, written to your child and how to use this book
• All about me (not just my diagnosis): a page to show new nurses and doctors
• My care team: who's who and who to thank
• What's happening in my body, in my own words, with "ask your care team" prompts
• My port and pokes plan: a comfort plan your child chooses and shares with the nurse

My feelings and questions
• Feelings check-in: a week of energy, body and mood check-ins
• My feelings wheel
• My worries jar
• Questions I want to ask (bring it to appointments)
• My hair and my body: "my head, my choice," and what to say when people stare

My people and my school
• What I miss and what I'm looking forward to
• Telling my friends and class: what I want them to know and who tells them

Boredom busters
• Games: tic-tac-toe, dots and boxes, hospital I spy, would you rather
• Puzzles and drawing: word search, maze, doodle starters and a comic to finish

Brave, good days and my path
• Brave-moments tracker ("You can cry and be brave at the same time")
• My good-days list
• My progress path: a countdown path to color, made to bend if plans change
• The people cheering for me

For you
• For my grown-ups: how to use the book together, what helps kids in treatment, siblings and when to ask for more help
• Find your circle: childhood cancer support organizations and the 988 crisis line
• A thank-you page with a 25% off code

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE
5 PDF files, 23 pages each:
• Fillable – US Letter (type right on the pages on a computer, tablet or phone)
• Full color – US Letter (8.5 x 11 in)
• Full color – A4
• Printer-friendly (white background, saves ink) – US Letter
• Printer-friendly – A4

WHO IT'S FOR
• Kids ages 7 to 12 going through cancer treatment, at the start or in the middle
• A thoughtful gift or care-package add-in from grandparents, teachers, classmates' families and friends
• Child life specialists, pediatric oncology teams, hospital teachers and support groups

HOW IT WORKS
• This is a digital download. Nothing will be shipped to you.
• After checkout, your files appear under You > Purchases and Reviews on Etsy and in your Etsy confirmation email.
• Print at home or at a local print shop, or type right into the fillable file on a computer, tablet or phone.
• The fillable file works best in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (on a computer, tablet or phone). Other PDF apps may not save typing and some rating circles may let you pick more than one answer. To write by hand on a tablet, open any version in an app like GoodNotes or Notability.
• Print a single page or the whole book, as many times as your family needs for personal use. Print extra feelings check-ins, trackers and game pages for long hospital stays.

A GENTLE GIFT
When a child you love is diagnosed, it's hard to know what to send. This is something for them, not just about their cancer. Send it as a digital gift, or print it, punch it into a binder and add a pack of gel pens.

A NOTE FROM ME
Hi, I'm Niki. I'm a mom and a certified grief educator and I lead The Ugly Cry Club. My daughter Harper was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at fifteen and went through about three and a half years of treatment. She taught me that you can have cancer and still be completely you: funny, stubborn, bored in a hospital bed, brave and scared in the same hour. I made this book for kids like her.

Real tears. Real love.
