My Brave Days
A coloring story for little ones going through cancer treatment. Ages 2-6. 26 pages.
A gentle way to color and talk together when words are hard. 💛
When your little one has cancer, their whole world changes: pokes, strong medicine, yucky days, hair that falls out and time away from friends and home. They feel all of it, even before they have the words. My Brave Days is a short, honest coloring story made to be read aloud and colored together. One little child (and their stuffed bird, Pip) goes to the hospital, meets the care team, gets through the pokes, rests on yucky days, enjoys the good ones and goes home. Every page says the same quiet things: your body is sick, the people around you are helping and all your feelings are okay.
🌿 Why You'll Love This Coloring Book:
✔ Simple, true words – One or two short sentences per page, made for a grown-up to read out loud
✔ One child, every page – The same little one (and Pip) on every page, drawn so any child can see themselves
✔ Honest and gentle – Names cancer, says "you didn't cause it" and "no one can catch it," and never uses fight or battle words
✔ Activity pages – Today I feel..., Things That Help Me Feel Calm, My Brave Moments star chart and Words I Might Hear
✔ Grown-Ups Only pages – How to use the book, simple honest words to say, what you might see and when to ask for more help, grounded in The Dougy Center's guidance for children facing serious illness
✔ Print it and color anywhere – Letter and A4 PDFs, perfect for the clinic bag

A NOTE FROM ME
Hi, I'm Niki. I'm a mom and a certified grief educator. My daughter Harper was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at fifteen and for three and a half years I sat in the waiting rooms you're sitting in now. I made this book the way I'd want someone to talk to a little one going through treatment: simply, honestly and gently, with lots of room to color.
Real tears. Real love.
